"Žernovník" lookout tower - 11,2km

The newly opened observation tower is located above the village of Žernovník near the peak of Na skalky. It was built on the site of an old reservoir and its total height is 15.5 m. The supporting structure of the hexagonal tower with a roof consists of larch columns and steel rods. The two-arm staircase and floors are then made of oak planks and beams. A total of 63 steps lead to the viewing platform, which is located at an altitude of 455 m. From the top there is a circular view of the wide surroundings of Žernovník. The main views are to the west, north and east towards the Svratecká hornatina, the Drahanská vrchovina and the Hořický hřbet. The observation tower should be freely accessible all year round. There is an information board near the lookout tower with a map of the surrounding area and the newly built local cycle routes.
